Tyler Reddick Identified as Top Contender for 2025 NASCAR Playoffs
Former crew chief Steve Letarte believes Tyler Reddick is poised for a strong rebound in the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season, despite being eliminated from the current playoffs.
Letarte, speaking today, highlighted Reddick’s natural talent behind the wheel, expressing surprise at the 23XI Racing driver’s winless season thus far. “I think that Tyler Reddick: he’s the one to me that has just the raw firepower. When I see a guy behind the wheel, man, he just does a lot of things that are very, very natural,” Letarte said. He added, “I’m shocked that he’s winless this year. So, if I had to have one guy who was bumped out that I think could make the round of eight next year, I think Reddick would be my obvious choice.”
Letarte acknowledged the challenges Reddick has faced both on and off the track this year, including an ongoing family health concern and the antitrust lawsuit involving 23XI Racing. Despite these factors, he remains convinced of Reddick’s potential, noting the driver reached the Championship 4 in 2024. A strong performance from Reddick next season could shake up the established order in NASCAR.
Todd Gordon echoed Letarte’s sentiment regarding Reddick, while also identifying Ross Chastain as a potential breakout driver in 2025, citing the anticipated arrival of Xfinity Series standout Connor Zilisch at Trackhouse Racing. The current Round of 8 contenders are Denny Hamlin, Ryan Blaney, Kyle Larson, William Byron, Christopher Bell, Chase Elliott, Chase Briscoe, and Joey Logano.
NASCAR officials have not yet commented on Letarte’s predictions, but the focus remains on the championship battle currently unfolding.
