UAE President and Bahraini King Condemn ‘Iranian Aggression’ During Manama Summit
UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain met in Manama on April 13, 2026, to address escalating regional tensions and the fallout from what they characterized as “Iranian terrorist aggression.”

The leaders focused heavily on recent attacks targeting civilians, facilities and civilian infrastructure within the UAE, Bahrain, and other neighboring states. During the talks, they condemned these actions as a direct violation of national sovereignty and a breach of international laws and norms, asserting that such aggression actively undermines regional peace, and security.
The meeting underscored the volatility of the Middle East and the potential for local conflicts to trigger global crises. The two heads of state exchanged views on the dangerous repercussions of this instability, specifically highlighting the risks to international shipping lanes, global energy supplies, and the stability of the world economy.
Beyond the security crisis, the visit served to reinforce the strategic partnership between the two Gulf nations. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and King Hamad discussed various avenues for joint cooperation, focusing on aligning their development priorities and mutual interests to ensure long-term prosperity for both populations.
The discussions concluded with a mutual commitment to maintain a high level of fraternal consultation and strategic coordination. This alignment is seen as critical for the two nations as they navigate the evolving security landscape of the region.
