At least four people have been killed in attacks on the Ukrainian regions of Odessa and Zaporizhzhia, regional military officials reported Wednesday, February 25, 2026. The strikes underscore the continued violence in Ukraine as the conflict enters its third year.

In Zaporizhzhia, two people were killed, including a 33-year-old man who died in a drone attack, according to Ivan Fedorov, the region’s military chief, via Telegram. Fedorov reported that at least four others were injured in attacks targeting multiple locations within the region, causing damage to homes and infrastructure.

Oleg Kiper, the head of the Odessa regional military administration, stated that industrial and energy facilities were among the targets damaged in the attacks. Two people were killed and at least three were injured in Odessa, according to Kiper’s reports.

Meanwhile, several areas within Russia reportedly came under attack overnight leading into Monday, February 24, 2026, according to The Kyiv Independent. Targets included facilities within the oil industry. Vyatjeslav Gladkov, the governor of Belgorod, reported via Telegram that a woman sustained a head injury in the region.

Ivan Fedorov is also listed as the Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration on Facebook, with over 32,000 likes.

The attacks on both sides of the border highlight the escalating nature of the conflict and the broadening scope of targets. These developments could further complicate efforts to negotiate a ceasefire or diplomatic resolution.
