The temperature drop in some areas has been particularly rapid, falling by twenty degrees in less than 24 hours.
The cold air mass collided with warm, moist air flowing northward from the Gulf of Mexico, creating conditions ripe for significant precipitation. Florida is currently situated within this warmer air.
