Gambit Publications Launches New Membership Levels to Support Local Journalism

New Orleans, LA – Gambit Publications today announced the launch of three new membership levels – Purple, Green, and Gold – designed to bolster support for local journalism and provide exclusive benefits to readers.

The new tiers, effective October 11, 2025, offer varying levels of access and perks, ranging from a monthly listing in print as part of the “Gambit Krewe” to a ¼ page print ad donation to a local non-profit or small business. The Purple level is priced at $10 per month, Green at $19.80 per month, and Gold at $365 annually. All levels include discounts at the Gambit store and invitations to exclusive Gambit Krewe events.

According to Gambit, the membership program aims to directly address the challenges facing local news organizations in a rapidly changing media landscape. “Support of local journalism is vital to a thriving community,” a Gambit representative stated. Memberships also include exclusive email offers. More information about the Gambit Krewe and its benefits can be found on the Gambit store website.

This initiative comes as news organizations nationwide seek sustainable funding models to continue providing essential coverage of local events and issues; the Pew Research Center has extensively documented the evolving state of the news media. Gambit officials stated they will continue to evaluate and refine the membership program based on community feedback.

Gambit Publications plans to announce the first recipients of the Gold level’s non-profit/small business ad donation in the coming weeks.
