In a unique outreach effort,NASA is offering the public a chance to travel to the Moon – symbolically,at least. Roughly 1.5 million names, collected thru an online campaign, will be etched onto a microchip and carried aboard the Artemis II mission, currently slated for a 2026 launch. This first crewed mission of the Artemis program, featuring astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen, represents a major step in returning humans to lunar orbit for the first time in over half a century.
