Adrian “Ädu,” a farmer from Unterlangenegg, Switzerland, known for his appearance on the reality TV show “Bauer, ledig, sucht” (Farmer, Single, Looking for Love), has died at the age of 42. Following his death, his farm is being dissolved, and his animals are in need of new homes.

Ädu’s passing occurred in late November, according to an announcement made by those close to him in a Facebook group dedicated to the show. The news has prompted an outpouring of support as the community seeks to rehome his livestock.

“He captivated people with his helpful nature, humor, and mischievous spirit,” a post shared on social media read. “He loved his animals more than anything, and they loved him in return.”

The farm in Unterlangenegg will now be liquidated, according to Blick. Thirty-two sheep and 18 goats are currently looking for new owners.

Ädu participated in the 3+ television program in 2019, hoping to find a romantic partner. While he didn’t find lasting love on the show, he did forge a close friendship with contestant Sabrina. “It didn’t develop into anything more than friendship, unfortunately,” Adrian said in an interview with Schweizer Illustrierte after the show concluded. “Sabrina is a wonderful woman, and I’m a little sad that it didn’t work out. But I’d rather have a very good friend than nothing at all.”
