Finally, we had time for ‘The Sopranos,’ which you loved, and we even went to the theater once! I made your favorite apple pancakes from Hania’s recipe. You liked to pretend everything was okay. You’d say, ‘Dosia, I was just pretending to be healthy again.’ We were supposed to go away for the holidays, you wanted to be with my mom, Kasia and Mika.”
