Samsung Unveils Next-Generation Odyssey Gaming Monitors, Including World’s First 6K 3D Display

Samsung is pushing the boundaries of display technology with the announcement of its 2026 Odyssey gaming monitor lineup, featuring five new models. The new series introduces groundbreaking features, including a glasses-free 3D experience at up to 6K resolution and refresh rates reaching an astonishing 1,040Hz. This launch signals Samsung’s continued commitment to innovation in the competitive gaming monitor market.

The most striking addition to the lineup is the Odyssey 3D (G90XH), which Samsung claims is the world’s first gaming monitor capable of delivering 6K resolution with a glasses-free 3D experience. The 32-inch monitor utilizes real-time eye-tracking technology to dynamically adjust the depth and perspective of the 3D image, tailoring the experience to the player’s viewpoint. While boasting a standard refresh rate of 165Hz, it can be boosted to 330Hz in Dual Mode at 3K resolution.

For esports professionals prioritizing speed, Samsung is also introducing the Odyssey G6 (G60H), touted as the world’s first gaming monitor with a refresh rate of 1,040Hz. Although this extreme speed is limited to HD resolution, the 27-inch monitor still achieves an industry-leading 600Hz at its native QHD (2K) resolution. It also supports both AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync for tear-free visuals.

Samsung is expanding the Odyssey G8 series with three additional models, offering a range of options to suit different needs. The G80HS is a 32-inch model featuring a 6K display and a 165Hz refresh rate (boostable to 330Hz in 3K mode), while the G80HF is a 27-inch option with a 5K resolution and 180Hz refresh rate (boostable to 360Hz in QHD). Both models utilize IPS panels.

For those seeking deep contrast and vibrant colors, the Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH) is a 32-inch monitor equipped with a 4K QD-OLED panel, a 240Hz refresh rate, and Glare Free technology. It also meets the HDR True Black 500 standard. All three Odyssey G8 models are compatible with FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync, ensuring a smooth gaming experience across various platforms.

While Samsung has not yet announced official pricing, these monitors are expected to carry a premium price tag. Considering the previous 4K Odyssey 3D model launched at around $1,999, the new 6K version could be even more expensive. The 1,040Hz and 6K G8 models are also anticipated to fall within a premium price range. Detailed pricing and availability information will be revealed at CES 2026. gsmarena

Samsung’s new monitor lineup represents a strategic effort to establish a new benchmark for display capabilities. By introducing glasses-free 6K 3D and a 1,040Hz refresh rate, the company is not only surpassing competitors but also potentially creating new markets and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in gaming display technology. This move underscores Samsung’s position as a leader in shaping the future of gaming monitors.
