Spanish music icon Alejandro Sanz recently sat down for a revealing interview on the popular Spanish talk show La Revuelta, providing insight into his new album, ‘¿Y ahora qué+?’ and his approach to work-life balance. The conversation, which included a humorous exchange over a playfully “burnt” portrait gifted to the artist, touched on Sanz’s personal struggles and his upcoming docuseries. The interview also revealed Sanz’s thoughts on the importance of education and a candid admission regarding a failed attempt to mediate a public dispute between two other prominent figures.

Spanish superstar Alejandro Sanz recently appeared on the popular Spanish talk show La Revuelta to promote his latest album, ‘¿Y ahora qué+?’. During the interview, host Jorge Ponce playfully presented Sanz with a rather unusual gift – a portrait of himself seemingly “burnt” – adding to a running gag on the show that has included gifts like an ice sculpture and a hedge. “Lo que tiene uno que aguantar,” Sanz quipped, laughing it off.

Host David Broncano promised Sanz a more in-depth interview than previous appearances, and he delivered, probing the artist about his awards, album sales, and even his personal struggles. Sanz revealed he’s recently overcome the challenge of “compaginar mi vida personal con la profesional” – balancing his personal and professional life. “I used to dedicate 100% to work, to the music, which I love, but I was putting in 16 hours in the studio with no end in sight,” he explained. “I wasn’t completely happy until I could balance those things.”

Sanz also reminisced about his school days, recalling that literature and history were his favorite subjects, largely due to having inspiring teachers. “Nunca se invierte suficiente en educación,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of investing in education, “often other things are prioritized when this should be a priority.”

The singer also shared news about an upcoming docuseries about his life, stressing his desire for authenticity. “I don’t want to make a reality show,” he said. “If it comes across as cheap, it would embarrass me. I want something authentic.”

Broncano also asked Sanz about his attempt to mediate a feud between Pablo Motos and himself. The singer admitted it was a failure. “Yo quedé con vacío dentro,” Sanz confessed, “I thought I could make it happen, and in the end it’s better I stick to my own lane. You can kill each other now, you can do whatever you want,” he joked.

Broncano expressed regret that his mediation attempt failed, but joked that he might “give a nudge to Andy and Lucas.” Sanz playfully responded, “Pues mira, creo que sería más fácil” – “Well, I think that would be easier.”
