Battlefield Studios is launching a major new competitive pillar for its popular franchise, the Battlefield REDSEC Elite Series. The initiative represents the largest organized esports effort in the recent history of the Battlefield series and signals a significant investment in competitive gaming within the broader first-person shooter market.
The competition, kicking off on December 10, 2025, will feature 600 elite players drawn from both the Battlefield community and the wider competitive FPS scene. Players will battle for a total prize pool of $1 million, distributed across three regional finals.
Each region will host 50 squads competing in six matches of REDSEC Battle Royale. Each day of competition will culminate in a high-stakes “Elimination” round – a knockout-style duel to determine the top eight teams. Accumulated Elite Series Points over three days will determine which teams advance to the regional finals.
Spectators can engage with the event through Twitch Drops, available on both the official EA broadcast and individual competitor channels, offering exclusive in-game rewards. This integration aims to enhance viewer engagement and build excitement around the competitive scene.
Alongside the Elite Series, Battlefield Studios also announced the REDSEC Open Series, a community-focused competition starting on December 12, 2025. This open series is designed to be accessible to players of all skill levels, providing a pathway for aspiring professionals to potentially compete with the best in the world.
