Early pricing indicates the Ryzen 7 9850X3D could be approximately 20 percent more expensive than the Ryzen 7 9800X3D at the same retailers, though these prices are likely placeholders. AMD is anticipated to officially unveil the Ryzen 7 9850X3D at CES 2026, taking place in Las Vegas from January 6th to 9th.

The Ryzen 7 9850X3D is expected to feature a boosted clock speed of 5.6 GHz, up from 5.2 GHz on the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, while maintaining the same core specifications. The processor will include 8 Zen 5 cores and 16 threads, paired with 96MB of L3 cache. This new generation of processors aims to deliver increased performance for demanding gaming workloads. According to PassMark, the 9850X3D demonstrates a 4.96 percent increase in single-core performance and a 4.69 percent improvement in multi-core performance.
