Among the key improvements is an AI-powered notification summary that condenses lengthy messages and group chats into concise overviews. This feature aims to help users quickly grasp the essential information without being overwhelmed by notifications.
A new “Notification Organizer” feature will automatically group and dismiss lower-priority notifications, such as promotional material, news alerts, and social media updates, helping users focus on what matters most.
Android 16 also expands customization options, allowing users to personalize app icons with custom shapes and themed designs. The update also introduces the ability to automatically darken bright apps, even if they don’t natively support dark mode.

The Circle to Search feature has been updated to analyze potentially suspicious messages, using AI to summarize the content and flag possible scams. This enhancement builds on the feature’s existing capabilities and adds a layer of security for users.
Accessibility features are also being enhanced. The “Guided Frame” feature in the Pixel camera now provides more detailed descriptions of scenes, such as “a girl with a yellow shirt sitting on a sofa and looking at her dog.” Voice Access can now be activated hands-free with the command “Ok Google, start Voice Access,” offering full voice control of the device.
Google is also expanding support for Fast Pair to include hearing aids, starting with devices from Demant, the Danish manufacturer behind brands like Oticon, Sonic, and Bernafon. This move aims to improve the connectivity experience for hearing aid users.
