ASUS has released a new variation of its ROG XG Mobile external GPU, designed for laptops and featuring the latest GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards. The availability of external GPUs is expanding options for users seeking desktop-level performance on the go.
The newly available model, the ROG XG Mobile GC34X (GC34X-019), is equipped with a GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU and is priced at ¥494,820 (approximately $3,350 USD).
Thunderbolt 5 External GPU Boasts GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU
The ROG XG Mobile (2025) is an external GPU designed to bring GeForce RTX 50 series performance to laptops. Connecting via a cable, the unit allows users to significantly upgrade the graphics capabilities of machines that don’t natively support a dedicated graphics card, or even smaller form-factor desktop PCs.
The device utilizes Thunderbolt 5 for connectivity, leveraging the interface’s increased bandwidth to deliver high-frame-rate and high-resolution gaming experiences. Beyond graphics, the ROG XG Mobile also expands a host PC’s connectivity with additional ports like LAN, HDMI, and DisplayPort.
The unit’s right side features two Thunderbolt 5 ports (one dedicated to PC connection), a DisplayPort, a LAN port, two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, and an HDMI port. It’s powered by a standard 3-pin (C5) power connector.
Compatibility requires a PC with at least Thunderbolt 4 or USB4 support. ASUS includes a Thunderbolt 5-compatible USB Type-C cable and recommends using it for optimal performance.
The device measures approximately 208 x 155 x 29.6 mm and weighs 0.952 kg. Included accessories are a product warranty card, power cord, setup guide, USB Type-C cable (Thunderbolt 5 compatible), and a stand.
