Two traffic accidents in the Vyškov region on Tuesday left one woman dead and multiple people injured, according to local authorities. The incidents, occurring hours apart, prompted emergency responses and significant traffic disruptions.

The first collision took place near the village of Marefy around midday. Police spokesman Petr Vala stated that preliminary reports indicate a woman veered into oncoming traffic, resulting in a head-on crash. She died at the scene. A child in her vehicle was transported to a hospital with minor injuries, and two other individuals also received medical attention.

Later that evening, emergency crews responded to a second accident in Nevojice, again on Route 1/50. Firefighters reported a collision between two passenger vehicles. “We are again intervening on Route 1/50. It concerns a collision between two passenger cars. We rescued one person and handed them over to the care of paramedics,” officials said around 7 p.m.

According to police, one of the drivers, a man, was trapped in his vehicle and required extrication. “It was an accident involving two passenger vehicles. The road is currently impassable. One of the cars was driven by a woman, and the other by a man who was trapped after the accident,” Vala explained.

Paramedics transported one person with moderate injuries and another with minor injuries to a hospital for further care. “We transported one person with medium-severe injuries for further care to the hospital, as well as a second person, but with only minor injuries,” said paramedic spokeswoman Michaela Bothová.
