Les Herbiers, France – A long-time vendor at the popular Puy du Fou theme park is investing in a standalone operation, reflecting a broader trend of French artisans seeking greater control over their brand and customer relationships. Céline Goguet, known for her handcrafted leather goods, is expanding with a new workshop and retail space, Céline Cuir, in the Vendée department. The move will allow Goguet to both continue production of her existing line and offer hands-on crafting experiences to the public, appealing to both seasoned enthusiasts and a younger generation [[1]].
A French leather goods artisan is expanding operations with a new workshop and retail space in Les Herbiers, France, as she seeks to broaden direct sales and offer crafting workshops.
Céline Goguet, who has operated a leather shop at the Puy du Fou theme park for the past 18 years in a section known as “Font-Rognou,” has established Céline Cuir at 11 bis rue de la Métairie. The 120 square meter facility will serve as both a production hub and a showroom for her products.
The move allows Goguet to continue manufacturing her leather goods while developing a more direct relationship with customers. The shop is currently open to the public through December, with plans to refine operating hours in early 2026 for a regular schedule of three to four days per week.
“The objective is also to propose workshops for the youngest ones on Wednesdays but also for adults on Friday evenings,” Goguet said.
Currently working with one apprentice, Goguet is actively seeking to hire additional staff, ideally for a part-time or three-quarter time position. The expansion reflects a growing trend among artisans to diversify revenue streams and engage directly with consumers, bypassing traditional wholesale channels.
