CETESB concludes 34th “First on Scene” training program in Presidente Epitácio

Emergency personnel in Presidente Epitácio have completed a specialized training program designed to enhance safety and response protocols during hazardous material accidents. The 34th edition of the “Primeiro no local” (First on Scene) course concluded on April 15, 2026.

The program, hosted at the Anfiteatro João Brilhante, was conducted by the Companhia Ambiental do Estado de São Paulo (CETESB). The training was specifically facilitated by the state’s Commission for Studies and Prevention of Accidents in the Road Transport of Dangerous Products.

The initiative brought together a diverse group of first responders to ensure a coordinated approach to emergency management. Participants included agents from the Civil Defense, the Military Police, and the Fire Department, as well as various municipal technicians and other officials who typically operate during the initial stages of an incident.

Strengthening the capabilities of those first to arrive at an accident site is a critical component of public health and safety. Proper intervention during the early moments of a hazardous material leak can significantly reduce the risk of environmental contamination and prevent acute health crises for the surrounding community.

The training sessions took place over two days, spanning April 14 and April 15, 2026.
