Abu Dhabi will soon play host to a world-renowned stage production, bringing a beloved story to life for audiences in the Middle East.”Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” based on Roald Dahl’s classic novel, is scheduled to premiere at Etihad Arena on Yas Island August 28th, marking the show’s first performance in the region. The production promises a visually spectacular and immersive experience for families and theatergoers alike.
“Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” is set to make its dazzling debut in Abu Dhabi from August 28th to September 6th at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island.
The acclaimed stage production is currently touring the globe, bringing the beloved story to the United Arab Emirates. Based on Roald Dahl’s internationally celebrated novel, the musical follows young Charlie Bucket as he wins a golden ticket to visit the wondrous and mysterious world of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. Audiences can expect a visually stunning experience filled with extraordinary characters, immersive theatrical techniques, and captivating music, including iconic chocolate rivers, nut-sorting squirrels, and the mischievous Oompa Loompas.
The show will feature beloved songs from the classic 1971 film, alongside original compositions by Grammy and Tony Award winners Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.

To bring Willy Wonka’s fantastical factory to life, renowned Las Vegas-based illusion designer Tim Kloehr joins the Broadway creative team.
“Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” first premiered on Broadway in 2017, enjoying over 300 performances before embarking on a four-year North American tour.
