The heated exchange, which occurred remotely from Turkey, highlights the increasingly fraught dynamic between Argentine celebrities and the tabloid media landscape. Suárez directly challenged Pochi over past online commentary, alleging the journalist had once called for violence against her.

Buenos Aires, November 26 (NA) – Argentine actress La China Suárez engaged in a heated exchange with panelist Pochi, known for her Instagram account Gossipeame, during a Wednesday morning appearance on Puro Show (El Trece).

Appearing remotely from Turkey, Suárez didn’t hesitate to address past statements made by the journalist regarding her personal life following the fallout from the 2021 scandal known as Wandagate, according to Agencia Noticias Argentinas. The incident underscores the often-turbulent relationship between celebrities and the entertainment media.

While discussing the labels applied to her by various media outlets, Suárez clarified that she doesn’t harbor animosity towards the press, explaining, “I understand the work of journalists. Many times they ask me ‘why do you hate the press?’ and I don’t hate it: I talk to whoever I want to talk to and whoever is respectful. I understand the ‘war for scoops’ and when they report information, but there are many things that cross a line.”

She went on to cite an instance where her home address was published, leading to a attempted home invasion at the gated community where she lives.

“You, Pochi, once posted a story that said ‘China should be beaten with sticks,’ and you quickly deleted it,” Suárez stated directly to the panelist.

Pochi immediately attempted to defend herself, denying the accusation: “Me? No. I can be critical of you, but I would never go that far.”

“There are many people who talk about my personal life, who judge, who point the finger, and I know how they operate. It’s a very small world. Although I don’t talk about you because I don’t know you, I wonder: who are they to talk about what another person does or doesn’t do?” Suárez questioned.

Marcia, Pochi’s given name, countered by arguing, “I believe that when you expose your life, you open the door for others to have an opinion.”

The actress appeared unfazed by Pochi’s justification, dismissing the explanation with a nod. “I’ve been working since I was ten years old, I already know everything you’re telling me. I’m referring to when you get involved in my personal life,” she concluded.

According to Agencia Noticias Argentinas, Suárez was referencing a previous comment made by Pochi on Puro Show, where she suggested Suárez’s attitude towards the press was “grounds for a beating.”
