On Friday, April 17, 2026, the 22nd British Academy Games Awards were held at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, hosted by content creator Elz the Witch. The ceremony honored the best video games released between November 16, 2024, and November 14, 2025.

Sandfall Interactive’s Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerged as the night’s biggest winner, taking home the top prize of Best Game. The title led all nominees with twelve nominations and tied with Dispatch for the most awards won, each securing three trophies.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 also won in the categories of Best Debut and Performer in a Leading Role, the latter awarded to Jennifer English for her portrayal of Maelle. The game had previously achieved a historic sweep at The Game Awards in December 2025, where it won nine awards including Game of the Year, making it only the second title after Baldur’s Gate 3 to win all five major gaming awards.

The 2026 BAFTA Games Awards introduced updated voting procedures, including three modern craft chapters for art, audio, and performance, aligning more closely with the British Academy’s film awards process. These changes restricted first-round voting in specific categories to members with relevant expertise.

Other notable nominees included Dispatch with nine nominations, Ghost of Yōtei with eight, Death Stranding 2 with seven, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle with six.
