Rock Supergroup to Perform One-Night Benefit Concert for Cancer Research

Six iconic lead singers from popular 1970s and 80s rock bands will unite for a one-time performance on November 23rd to benefit cancer research.

The supergroup, assembled by retired Olympic ice skater and cancer survivor Scott Hamilton for his annual Scott Cares fundraiser, features Kevin Cronin of REO Speedwagon, Jason Derlatka of Journey, Jason Scheff of Chicago, John Elefante of Kansas, Wally Palmar of The Romantics, and Mike Reno of Loverboy. Reno’s wife, Catherine St Germain, will also perform. Hamilton expressed his excitement, stating, “It’s going to be a big old rock and roll show… Back in the day, I would’ve killed to get a backstage pass to see or meet or to be in the same proximity as these guys, and now I’m producing them in my show.”

The event aims to raise funds for cancer research centers and the 4th Angel foundation, which provides support to newly diagnosed patients by connecting them with survivors. This concert comes at a time when cancer remains a leading cause of death worldwide, highlighting the critical need for continued research and support. Fans can also look forward to upcoming tour dates from Journey, who recently announced the first leg of their 2026-2027 farewell tour, and REO Speedwagon, though the band announced they will cease touring at the end of last year due to internal disagreements.

Hamilton added that attendees will hear familiar hits performed by the original artists, with performances synchronized to skating routines by Olympic and national champions. Officials stated that all proceeds from the event will directly support cancer research initiatives and patient support programs.
