De’Aaron Fox Set to Debut with Spurs Against Pelicans on Saturday

San Antonio Spurs guard De’Aaron Fox is expected to make his season debut Saturday when the team hosts the New Orleans Pelicans, marking a significant boost to the team’s lineup.

Fox has been recovering from a hamstring injury sustained during the offseason and has recently increased his training intensity in preparation for his return. The 27-year-old is one of only two players league-wide, alongside Luka Dončić, to average 20 points, 5 assists, and 1 steal in each of the last six seasons. His addition to the court alongside rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama is anticipated to elevate the Spurs’ performance after the pair only logged 120 minutes together last season following Fox’s trade from Sacramento.

The Spurs enter Saturday’s game with a 5-2 record, currently competing in the NBA Cup and scheduled to play the Houston Rockets tonight. Several other Spurs players are also working toward their return from injury, including rookie Dylan Harper, who is sidelined with a calf strain, and center Luke Kornet, recovering from an ankle sprain. This return is particularly important as the Spurs look to build on their promising start to the season and establish themselves as a competitive force in the Western Conference; you can find more information about the team’s roster here.

Team officials have indicated Fox’s playing time will be monitored closely in his initial games back, with a focus on gradually increasing his workload.
