Bollywood Icon Dharmendra Discharged From Hospital, Recovering at Home

Bollywood legend Dharmendra, 89, has been discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital and is continuing his recovery at home, following a brief hospital stay that sparked concern among fans.

The veteran actor was admitted three days ago due to breathing issues, prompting widespread rumors – including false reports of his death – that were quickly debunked by his family. Filmmaker Guddu Dhanoa, a cousin of Dharmendra, visited him shortly after his discharge and told the media, “He is doing fine.” His daughter, Esha Deol, and wife, Hema Malini, also publicly refuted the inaccurate reports circulating online.

A statement released by Sunny Deol’s team confirmed the actor’s discharge and requested privacy for the family during Dharmendra’s recovery. “Mr. Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home,” the statement read. “We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family’s privacy during this time.” This news provides relief to fans who have followed Dharmendra’s six-decade career, marked by iconic roles in films like Sholay and Chupke Chupke.

Dharmendra was last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Ulja Jiya and is slated to appear in Sriram Raghavan’s upcoming film, Ikkis, alongside Agastya Nanda. Officials have stated that the family will provide updates as appropriate, and they appreciate the continued support and well wishes from the public.
