Louisiana Drug Operation Nets Arrests, Seizures in East Baton Rouge and Livingston Parishes
A multi-parish drug investigation culminated in multiple arrests and the seizure of narcotics, firearms, and cash in East Baton Rouge and Livingston parishes, authorities announced today.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office (EBRSO) began investigating alleged large-scale marijuana sales connected to Reginald Weeden in September and October. Investigators say tips led them to a property on N. Foster Drive, where surveillance and a controlled buy confirmed the alleged activity. The investigation expanded to Weeden’s residence on Park Ridge Drive in Livingston Parish, resulting in the execution of search warrants at multiple locations.
During the searches, EBRSO agents seized 16.8 grams of fentanyl – representing 168 potentially lethal doses – along with 7.91 pounds of marijuana, 7.52 pounds of synthetic cannabinoids, 1.44 pounds of THC wax, 33.1 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, amphetamine, and MDMA pills. Also recovered were scales, bagging materials, a vacuum sealer, and $1,225 in cash. Firearms seized included a Taurus G2C 9mm handgun and a Smith & Wesson .38 Special revolver. Drug-related offenses are a significant concern for public safety, as highlighted by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s latest threat assessment.
Reginald “Slick” Weeden, born October 21, 1986, was booked in Livingston Parish on multiple charges, including possession with intent to distribute marijuana, synthetic cannabinoids, THC wax, and fentanyl, as well as firearm and drug paraphernalia offenses. Weeden has prior convictions for manslaughter (2005), negligent homicide (2021), and attempted illegal possession of a firearm by a felon (2024). Brandon Kenney, born June 19, 1968, was charged with possession of marijuana, a firearm with CDS, and paraphernalia after admitting the marijuana at his residence was supplied by Weeden.
