Minnesota State Mavericks Add Five to Women’s Basketball Roster

The Minnesota State University, Mankato women’s basketball program announced today the signing of five players – Brielle Janssen, Brooklyn Lewis, Brylee Miller, Alyvia Padgett, and Amaya Pahl – who will join the team for the 2026-27 season.

The incoming class represents a significant boost for the Mavericks, as they aim to continue their success in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. All signings are contingent upon successful admission to Minnesota State and NCAA eligibility certification. Head coach Emilee Thiesse expressed her excitement, stating, “We are beyond excited to officially welcome Brielle, Brooklyn, Brylee, Alyvia, and Amaya to our Maverick family. This talented group of student-athletes represents everything we value in our program – high character, toughness, and an incredible work ethic.”

Among the signees, Brielle Janssen, a standout from MACCRAY High School in Clara City, Minnesota, has already established herself as a dominant force, leading her team to a Class A state runner-up finish last season while averaging 26.6 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game. Alyvia Padgett, from Brandon Valley High School in South Dakota, was named the South Dakota AA Player of the Year and brings a proven scoring record, nearing the 1,000-point milestone. You can find more information about NCAA eligibility requirements on their official website.

The Mavericks are bolstering their roster with versatile athletes, including Brylee Miller, a three-sport athlete from Fairmont, Minnesota, and Brooklyn Lewis, a 1,000-point scorer from New Ulm, Minnesota. Amaya Pahl, from Lakeville South High School, adds athleticism and rebounding prowess to the forward position. Coach Thiesse added, “Each brings a unique skill set and a competitive spirit that will allow them to impact our style of play.” You can learn more about the Minnesota State Mavericks athletics program here.
