The Taste Workshop took center stage at Saint-Quentin’s Sustainable Development Festival on Saturday, April 25, 2026, drawing residents to the Europe neighborhood for a day focused on eco-conscious living and community engagement.
Organized by the Europe District Council in partnership with the City of Saint-Quentin, the event marked the third consecutive year of collaboration between local officials and neighborhood groups to promote sustainability through hands-on activities and educational programming.
Held at the Europe Social Center from 10 a.m. To 5 p.m., the festival featured a diverse lineup of workshops and exhibits designed to inspire practical environmental action. Attendees participated in creative crafting sessions, cooking demonstrations using locally sourced ingredients, and interactive stands aimed at raising awareness about sustainable practices.
One of the highlights was the birdhouse-building activity, which invited families to construct shelters for local wildlife while learning about biodiversity and habitat preservation. Sensitization booths provided information on recycling, energy conservation, and urban gardening, reinforcing the festival’s mission to produce sustainability accessible and engaging.
The day concluded with a special performance by Cie L’Echappée, presenting their production “The Water Guardians” at 5:15 p.m. On the Europe stage. The theatrical piece, offered free of charge, used storytelling to highlight the importance of water conservation and environmental stewardship.
Open to all and completely free, the festival reflected Saint-Quentin’s ongoing commitment to fostering community-driven initiatives that align with broader goals of ecological responsibility and innovation in sustainable development.
