Epic Games Store is currently offering “Hogwarts Legacy” at no cost to users, a significant opportunity to access the popular open-world action RPG. The availability began recently and extends until May 3 at 8 am PT/11 am ET.
When initially released in 2023, “Hogwarts Legacy” quickly gained traction, selling over 12 million copies and generating more than $850 million in global sales revenue within its first two weeks. It became one of the fastest-selling video games ever and has since surpassed 40 million copies sold. The game’s success reflects the enduring appeal of the Harry Potter universe and the growing demand for immersive, open-world gaming experiences.
The current giveaway is separate from Epic Games Store’s usual weekly free game offerings, which currently include “Firestone Online IDLE RPG” and “Oddsparks: An Automation Adventure” available until May 7. Following that, “Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure” and “Trash Goblin” will develop into the free games on offer.
Despite other free titles being available, “Hogwarts Legacy” is expected to be the primary draw for users of the Epic Games Store. The game has also received critical acclaim, earning numerous awards across the industry.
