New Godzilla Film Titled “Godzilla Minus Zero,” Sequel to Oscar Winner Announced
The next installment in the iconic Godzilla franchise will be titled “Godzilla Minus Zero,” it was revealed yesterday at Godzilla Fest 2025 in Tokyo.
The title was unveiled at the event, held at Kanadevia Hall on Godzilla Day, along with a logo designed by director Takashi Yamazaki, who is returning to helm the project after the critical and commercial success of “Godzilla Minus One.” Details regarding the meaning of “Minus Zero” remain scarce, with an official release stating only, “Stay tuned for further updates.”
“Godzilla Minus One” was a landmark achievement for the series, becoming the first film in the franchise to win an Academy Award, earning the Best Visual Effects Oscar at the 96th Academy Awards. The film grossed over $113 million worldwide, demonstrating a renewed global interest in the monster. This success comes alongside a surge in popularity for the broader “MonsterVerse,” with films like “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” grossing over $572 million globally.
