“Another World,” featuring the voice talents of Chung Suet-ying, Choi Hiu-tung, Ko Wai-lin, Shirley Yeung, and Cheung Kai-tong, received three nominations, including Best Animated Feature, Best Adapted Screenplay (Yang Baowen), and Best Original Film Music (Chau Lei-ting, CMgroovy, and Fung Wing-ki). The film ultimately secured the win for Best Animated Feature, solidifying Hong Kong’s presence in the animation scene.
After receiving the Best Director award for “The Sparring Partner,” Li Junshuo simply said, “Thank you, Golden Horse Awards, thank you, judges.” A visibly emotional Zhang Diwen, the film’s lead actor, immediately began to cry. Li also acknowledged his boyfriend in the audience with a gesture of gratitude.
Despite nominations, Ko Wai-lin (Best Actor), Anthony Wong (Best Supporting Actor), and Zhang Diwen (Best New Actor) did not take home awards. Hong Kong’s action choreography teams, represented by Lo Ho-ming for “Shock Wave 2” and Sakamoto Hiroshi for “The White Storm #4,” were also unsuccessful in the Best Action Design category.
