Turkish authorities have detained 13 individuals as part of an ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Gülistan Doku, a case that has remained unsolved for six years.
The latest development follows the arrest of Erdoğan Elaldı, a provincial special administration employee, who was taken into custody in connection with the probe. Investigators are examining allegations that data was deleted from Gülistan Doku’s bank accounts, with former police officer Tuncay Sonel accused of ordering the erasure.
former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu — referred to in reports as “Vali Sonel” — has seen renewed scrutiny after photographs linked to him resurfaced during the investigation, sparking public debate.
Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç emphasized the importance of pursuing the case to its conclusion, stating that the investigation must continue until all facts are uncovered.
Other detainees include a former police officer and a provincial special administration official, both arrested in relation to the case. The investigation remains active, with officials confirming that no stone will be left unturned in the search for answers.
