Lebanese superstar Haifa Wehbe has taken legal action after a surge of digitally fabricated images and videos surfaced online, falsely attributed to her. Her lawyer has filed a formal complaint with the Public Prosecutor, alleging a deliberate campaign to tarnish her reputation.
According to the complaint, numerous accounts and groups on social media platforms including Facebook, Telegram, and TikTok, as well as several websites, have been disseminating the fabricated content, which includes sexually explicit material falsely linked to the actress.
Attorney Sharif Hafez stated that the materials circulating online are entirely artificial, created using artificial intelligence (AI) technology in an attempt to damage Wehbe’s image and defame her publicly.
A technical report from a specialized consultancy confirmed the allegations. The report, reviewed by Wehbe’s legal team, concluded that all the images and videos in question were digitally manufactured using AI systems.
Hafez has requested that authorities investigate all online links containing the offensive content, tasking the Internet Investigation Department of the Ministry of Interior’s Information Technology Administration with identifying those responsible for creating and distributing the deepfakes. The complaint seeks legal action against all parties involved.
