Portuguese giants FC Porto are reportedly poised too make a significant offer for Jagiellonia białystok midfielder Oskar Pietuszewski, 17, a move that could shatter transfer fee records in Poland’s Ekstraklasa. The rising Polish youth international has garnered attention for his performances with both club and country, and Porto views him as a key piece in their long-term development strategy. A growing polish contingent in Porto-including Jan Bednarek and Jakub Kiwior-may also influence the young player’s decision as he weighs his options.
FC Porto is heavily interested in Polish youth international Oskar Pietuszewski, with the Portuguese giants potentially preparing a bid that could approach a PKO Ekstraklasa record. The 17-year-old midfielder has impressed with both his club, Jagiellonia Białystok, and the Poland U-21 national team, and Porto believes he fits their long-term squad building plans. While other clubs are monitoring the talented player, a move to the Estadio do Dragao could prove to be the ideal next step in his development.
Polish Presence at Porto Could Sway Transfer Decision
A key factor in Porto’s pursuit of Pietuszewski is the growing Polish contingent already at the club. Since the summer, center-backs Jan Bednarek and Jakub Kiwior have become integral parts of the “Smogons” squad, earning praise for their performances, particularly Bednarek. Adding to the Polish connection is Hubert Charuży, a teammate of Pietuszewski’s age.
The success of Polish players at Porto has further solidified the club’s interest in bringing Pietuszewski to Portugal. The Portuguese league could provide a valuable platform for the young player to hone his skills before potentially moving to one of Europe’s top leagues. Sources close to the player suggest a move to a powerhouse like Manchester City or Barcelona might be premature at this stage in his career.
According to Meczyki.pl, Porto is prepared to offer around €11 million for the 17-year-old, a figure that would be near the highest transfer fee ever paid in the Polish Ekstraklasa.
Transfer Fee Could Challenge Ekstraklasa Record
Jagiellonia Białystok’s sporting director, Łukasz Masłowski, recently acknowledged the significant interest in Pietuszewski, noting that the names of the clubs involved are “exciting.” The player himself is aware of the opportunities before him.
“Perhaps the best solution would be to complete a transfer this winter, but allow him to remain with Jagiellonia for another six months,” Masłowski told TVP Sport. “This would give him time to improve his language skills, finish school, get his driver’s license, and continue competing for silverware with Jagiellonia.”
