Vogue World: Hollywood Raises $4.5 Million for Entertainment Community Fund
Los Angeles, CA – Vogue World: Hollywood, a unique fusion of fashion, film, and philanthropy, concluded yesterday evening, raising an impressive $4.5 million for the Entertainment Community Fund.
The event, held on the Paramount Pictures lot, drew a star-studded crowd including Miley Cyrus, Dakota Johnson, Jennifer Connelly, and Governor Gavin Newsom, and featured performances by Doja Cat and Gracie Abrams. Actress Kathryn Hahn, attending in a Lanvin gown, described the evening as “so moving,” adding, “To be here witnessing so much beauty, so much history and so much reverence for filmmaking, fashion and costume design is so moving. I just feel so charged by this evening.” The show was conceived as a benefit after January wildfires impacted the homes of several costume designers, a critical role often overlooked in film production.
Vogue World, previously held in New York, London, and Paris, presented seven distinct acts, each a collaboration between a costume designer and a leading fashion house. Highlights included Julia Garner sprinting down the runway in a Marie Antoinette ensemble and a powerful performance by Danai Gurira and Teyana Taylor in looks from Black Panther. The event’s movement director, Stephen Galloway, noted the three days of rehearsals felt “like live TV,” aiming to blend the worlds of film and fashion seamlessly. Anna Wintour explained earlier this year that Vogue World aims to “bring awareness and sound and unmistakable notes of positivity, creativity and hope.”
The funds raised will provide vital support to entertainment professionals facing hardship, particularly in light of recent industry challenges like strikes and production slowdowns. Organizers stated they plan to continue supporting the entertainment community through future initiatives, building on the success of yesterday’s event.
