A New Hampshire man was injured on Wednesday after he was hit with birdshot during a hunting trip.The victim, Joshua Perrone, 37, of Lyme, was part of a group of pheasant hunters who were tracking a bird in Canaan when the shooting happened.Wardens with the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department said the group had partially encircled a pheasant when the bird tried to fly away, causing one of the hunters to fire a single shot at it.Multiple pellets struck Perrone, causing him to sustain non-life-threatening wounds.The group immediately called 911 and rendered first aid before bringing Perrone to a waiting ambulance. He was taken to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon for treatment.No charges are being filed at this time. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
