Incheon United dominated the K League 2 Awards on December 1st, sweeping the Young Player, Manager, and Most Valuable Player honors in a stunning display of success following their championship season.
The Korea Professional Football League held its annual K League 2025 Awards ceremony at the Swiss Grand Hotel in Seoul on Sunday afternoon. The event culminated with the announcement of the league’s top individual accolades.
First to be recognized was Park Seung-ho, who claimed the Young Player award in a landslide victory. Park received an overwhelming number of votes – 10 from managers, 13 from fellow players, and 93 from the media. The midfielder enjoyed a breakout season, appearing in 37 matches and contributing 9 goals and 1 assist. His tireless work rate and intelligent play quickly made him a key component of Incheon’s attack.
Park’s consistent performance throughout the year was further highlighted by one Round MVP selection, three appearances in the Round Best XI, and three Man of the Match awards. The accolades capped off a remarkable season that saw him lift the K League 2 trophy and earn individual recognition as the league’s top young talent.
Incheon’s championship-winning coach, Yoon Jung-hwan, was named K League 2 Manager of the Year. Yoon secured an equally impressive tally of votes – 10 from managers, 11 from players, and 104 from the media – demonstrating widespread respect for his leadership. This win marks a historic achievement for Yoon, who previously won the K League 1 Manager of the Year award while at Gangwon FC last season.
Yoon masterfully guided Incheon back to the top flight just one season after their relegation. His tactical acumen and strong leadership delivered the club’s first-ever trophy and led to a three-year contract extension, securing his future with the team.
The K League 2’s Most Valuable Player award went to Incheon’s forward, Jerzo. He topped all voting categories, receiving 6 votes from managers, 10 from players, and 87 from the media. Jerzo was a dominant force throughout the season, scoring 12 goals and providing 10 assists in 37 appearances. His impressive attacking contributions were instrumental in Incheon’s title-winning campaign and promotion. Jerzo completed a stellar year by adding the MVP award to his K League 2 championship and Best XI selection.
Incheon’s success was further reflected in the K League 2 Best XI, announced prior to the ceremony, with a league-leading six players representing the club. Joining MVP Jerzo on the team were Min Sung-jun, Lee Ju-yong, Kim Gun-hee, Lee Myung-ju, and Mugosa.
