The official car used by Romania’s former president, Klaus Iohannis, during his time as mayor of Sibiu, is heading to auction.
The Audi A6 3.2 FSI, which Iohannis used as his official vehicle while serving as mayor, is being offered for sale by the Sibiu Municipality through a specialized auction house in Bucharest.
The vehicle was originally purchased by the city of Sibiu in 2010, according to local publication Știri de Sibiu.
The auction will kick off with a starting bid of just 1,000 euros and is part of the “Time to Bid – Watches & Luxury Accessories” event, scheduled for February 24th at 6:00 PM. The auction will be held both in person at the Cesianu-Racoviță Palace in Bucharest (C.A. Rosetti Street No. 5) and online via the Artmark Live platform, as reported by News.ro.
The Sibiu Local Council approved the sale of the car in January as part of a fleet renewal program.
With only 120,000 kilometers on the odometer, the car has seen limited use and is in good technical condition, fully functional, recently serviced, and free of mechanical defects. Artmark notes it exhibits normal wear and tear for a 2005 model.

The car boasts features like heated seats, automatic climate control, and an infotainment system, according to the auction house. Audi A6 models have long been a popular choice for official fleets and protocol vehicles across Europe. King Charles III, for example, has utilized an Audi A6 as part of his official transportation.
The “Time to Bid” auction also features a selection of luxury watches and accessories, including pieces from renowned brands like Rolex, Cartier, Chopard, Patek Philippe, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Franck Muller, and Vacheron Constantin.
A Franck Muller Conquistador gold wristwatch, for men, from 2010, is the most expensive item in the auction, with a starting price of 27,000 euros.
