U.S. And Israel Launch Strikes Against Iran, Trump Announces ‘Major Operation’
The United States and Israel have initiated military strikes against Iran, escalating tensions in the Middle East. The coordinated action comes as U.S. President Donald Trump announced the beginning of “major combat operations” in Iran, signaling a significant shift in regional policy. The development underscores growing regional instability and raises concerns about a wider conflict.
According to a video posted on his Truth Social media platform, Trump stated that the U.S. Aims to address “threats” emanating from the Iranian regime. “A short time ago, the U.S. Military began major combat operations in Iran,” he said.
The U.S. Strikes followed earlier Israeli attacks against Iran, with reports of explosions in the capital, Tehran. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the attacks as “a joint action” between the two countries.
Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard responded by claiming to have launched retaliatory strikes targeting Israeli, and U.S. Interests.
Early reports from Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency indicate that five students were killed in strikes targeting a girls’ school in southern Iran.
Trump further stated that Iran is “the world’s number one state sponsor of terror,” and referenced recent protests within Iran, alleging the deaths of “tens of thousands” of citizens. He urged Iranian security forces to surrender, offering immunity, and called on civilians to rebel against the current government. “When we are finished, take over your government. It will be yours to take,” he said.
The announcement of a “major operation” against Iran has led to widespread airspace disruptions in the Middle East, with many airlines rerouting flights to avoid the region, according to reports from the Associated Press.
The situation remains fluid, and the full extent of the military operations and their potential consequences are still unfolding.
