Ken Anderson, L.C. Greenwood, Steve Tasker Among 34 Advancing in Hall of Fame Consideration

Thirty-four former NFL players, including quarterback Ken Anderson, defensive tackle L.C. Greenwood, and special teams standout Steve Tasker, have advanced to the next phase of consideration for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2026.

The announcement was made today, October 23, 2025, as the Hall of Fame narrowed the field of 34 Senior candidates from an initial list of 82 nominees. Anderson, a former NFL MVP with the Cincinnati Bengals, Greenwood, a key member of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ “Steel Curtain” defense, and Tasker, a six-time Pro Bowler with the Buffalo Bills, are among those still in contention. This progression signifies a significant step toward potential enshrinement for these players, who have already completed their eligibility under the modern-era rules.

The Senior Committee considers players who have been retired for more than 25 years. The committee will meet again in early 2026 to select finalists, who will then be presented to the full 49-member Hall of Fame Selection Committee for a final vote. You can learn more about the Hall of Fame selection process on the official NFL website.

The Hall of Fame Selection Committee will announce the Class of 2026 during Super Bowl LXI in February 2026. Officials stated that this group represents some of the NFL’s most impactful players from eras past.
