BetRivers to Accept Cryptocurrency Payments Through BurraPay Integration
BetRivers players will soon be able to fund their sportsbook and online casino accounts using cryptocurrency, following a new agreement between its parent company, Rush Street Interactive (RSI), and BurraPay, a leading provider of secure crypto payment solutions for the regulated gaming industry.
The integration of BurraPay’s solution into the BetRivers platform will allow for seamless cryptocurrency deposits, though the rollout will occur on a jurisdiction-by-jurisdiction basis as regulatory approvals are obtained. RSI is BurraPay’s first U.S. customer, marking a significant step toward wider acceptance of digital currencies in the online gaming space. This move caters to a growing demand for alternative payment methods among online gamblers.
“This agreement is a milestone for both companies – and for the industry as a whole – as it proves that cryptocurrency payments can be delivered in a compliant, player-friendly, and scalable way,” said Luke Millanta, CTO and co-founder of BurraPay. Richard Schwartz, CEO of Rush Street Interactive, added, “BurraPay has demonstrated a compliance-first approach that perfectly aligns with our values and regulatory commitments…we are excited to offer our BetRivers players the flexibility to fund their accounts with cryptocurrency.” The American Gaming Association has recently updated its anti-money laundering (AML) best practices to address the growing use of cryptocurrency in gaming, emphasizing the importance of robust compliance programs. RSI recently launched an integrated payments debit solution with Sightline, further expanding BetRivers’ payment options.
Officials stated that the rollout timeline will depend on securing the necessary regulatory approvals in each jurisdiction, but RSI anticipates offering the new payment method to its players in the near future.
