Latvian Students Recognized for Scientific Research Works

On Friday, April 17, 2026, the Ministry of Health awarded special prizes to three high school students for their scientific research projects in medicine and health sciences at the 50th National Student Scientific Research Conference.

The awards were presented to Alise Ābolte from Riga State 2nd Gymnasium (12th grade), Amanda Rūta Meikšāne from Āgenskalna State Gymnasium, and Gabrielija Džeina Melne from Riga 72nd Secondary School (12th grade).

The students’ research was evaluated based on topic relevance to youth and society, methodology, quality of results and conclusions, as well as language, and presentation. A total of 35 student research papers were submitted in the medicine and health sciences category.
