A modern digital platform has been launched to help reunite lost pets with their owners in the aftermath of the recent wildfires in Ñuble and Biobío, Chile. The initiative addresses the growing concern for animals separated from their families during evacuations.
The free platform, animalesperdidos.cl, allows users to register lost or found animals, including photos, descriptions, and location data. The goal is to consolidate information previously scattered across social media and streamline the search process.

The platform features filters for species, physical characteristics, and municipality, designed to quickly identify pets and connect owners with those who have found them, as well as with rescue workers. This centralized approach aims to reduce the challenges of locating animals amidst the ongoing emergency.

The platform was created by Felipe Vidal and Marcelo Cornejo, who described the initiative as a response to the impact of the fires, noting that many pets became separated from their families during preventative evacuations. The launch of this platform underscores the importance of community support during natural disasters.
As of March 3, 2026, the platform already hosts over 100 active listings for both lost and rescued animals, facilitating direct coordination between owners and those assisting in the search and recovery efforts.
