A renovated attic apartment in Vilnius Traditional Town has increased its usable space by one-fifth following a €40,000 remodeling project, according to local media reports.

The transformation, led by designer Inga Grinė, converted a single large attic into two modern apartments, each approximately 50 square meters in size. The project preserved the building’s historic character while introducing a contemporary layout tailored to urban living.

“This attic was originally one large apartment,” Grinė explained. “By dividing it into two distinct units, we created two attic-style apartments of similar size. The existing staircase running through the center of the space made the division both logical and straightforward.”

Grinė noted that the redesign aligned completely with the developer’s vision and was easily executed due to the building’s existing structural features. “The space naturally split into two parts,” she said.

She added that one of the newly formed apartments has become a sought-after rental property, describing it as “a tenant favorite” since completion.

The renovation highlights growing interest in revitalizing historic urban properties in Vilnius, particularly in the Senamiestis district, where limited space often demands innovative architectural solutions.
