Polish tennis player Magda Linette burst onto the Grand Slam scene in 2023 with a surprising semifinal run at the Australian Open, raising expectations for continued success. While she hasn’t replicated that deep finish in subsequent major tournaments, Linette remains a notable figure on the WTA tour, currently ranked 55th in the world. This article examines linette’s 2024 season, highlighting both on-court challenges and her substantial career earnings, which now total over $8 million.
Magda Linette enjoyed a stunning run to the Australian Open semifinals at the start of 2023, signaling a potential breakthrough for the Polish player on the Grand Slam stage. Fans and analysts alike anticipated more deep runs in major tournaments, but the success proved difficult to replicate.
Unfortunately, Linette hasn’t matched that level of performance since. She experienced early exits at the Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and the US Open.
Big Earnings
The 2024 season hasn’t been her most successful, but Linette did manage a notable victory over Coco Gauff in Miami, propelling her to the quarterfinals – where she fell to Jasmine Paolini. That win over Gauff stands as her biggest result of the year. She has fallen in the first round of all Grand Slam events this season.

Despite the challenges, Linette has earned $1.1 million on the court this year (approximately 4.1 million złoty), bringing her career total to an impressive $8 million – nearly 30 million złoty.
“We are people from Poznań and we know how much success costs. It’s not like winning the lottery. It’s years of work. Magda knows this perfectly. She realizes that she needs a reserve and money set aside in case of injury and what will happen after her sports career,” her father told wpoznaniu.pl.
“I have the luxury that when I need it, I go on such a lavish vacation. It’s really the only thing I can afford besides shopping. A lot of things pass me by because I’m often not there or I already have to travel to a tournament. That’s why, when I can, I want to give myself a gift in the form of a vacation to rest, reward myself for hard work and sacrifice,” the tennis star previously said to tenisklub.pl.
Currently, Magda Linette is ranked 55th in the WTA rankings.
