Shiseido Japan and Matsukiyo Cocokara & Company are partnering to release a limited-edition shade of the popular “MAQUILLAGE” total makeup brand’s “Dramatic Skin Sensor Base NEO” [SPF50+・PA++++] – a Butter Yellow hue (25mL, ¥2,970, as researched by the editorial department) – on February 21, 2026. The new shade will be exclusively available at Matsumoto Kiyoshi Group and Cocokara Fine Group stores nationwide (excluding some locations), as well as the Matsukiyo Cocokara online store.
The launch highlights the increasing trend of personalized beauty solutions driven by color technology. Developed by Shiseido’s hair and makeup artists, the Butter Yellow shade is designed to complement a wide range of skin tones with its natural correcting and tone-enhancing properties, regardless of personal color palettes.
Unique Technology to Combat Oiliness and Dryness
The new yellow shade boasts excellent blendability and enhances the appearance of fair, soft skin tones. The color earned the nickname “Butter Yellow” in collaboration with the beauty platform LIPS. The base product, “Dramatic Skin Sensor Base NEO,” is already recognized as Maquillage’s most powerful long-lasting foundation and a flagship item for the brand.
The formula features a unique Humidity Auto-Sensor technology that combats both oiliness and dryness. This technology automatically detects changes in external skin humidity – a key factor in makeup breakdown – releasing moisture when skin becomes oily and retaining it when dryness sets in. Additionally, an oil-derived Poreless Jelly fills and blurs the appearance of pores, creating a translucent and even complexion.
