KYOTO, Japan – April 18, 2026 – Olio, a Kyoto-based technology company, has launched a modern e-learning application designed to aid iPad users master their devices. The app, named Appfolio, offers over 100 tutorial videos covering various iPad functionalities for users of all skill levels.
According to the company’s press release issued on April 18, 2026 at 12:00 PM, Appfolio was created by amity_sensei (Ayaka Gakita), an iPad specialist with over 3,000 users trained through Kyoto and Tokyo iPad schools and online communities. The application addresses common frustrations where users struggle to determine which apps to use for specific tasks despite having access to over two million applications.
Appfolio allows users to start learning based on what they want to create, eliminating the demand to understand complex app names or functions first. The platform provides a library of completed projects to inspire and guide users through practical, goal-oriented learning.
The application is available as a monthly subscription service and launched simultaneously with a web version on the same date. IOS app downloads have surpassed 5,000 as of April 2026, according to company data.
Gakita stated that while her YouTube channel has over 380,000 subscribers, she found that video alone does not always convey the nuanced, hands-on guidance needed for effective iPad mastery, which motivated the development of this interactive application.
The launch reflects ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between device accessibility and user proficiency in the tablet market, where hardware adoption often outpaces practical skill development.
