The fire originated on the eighth floor of a building in Mira-Sintra, within the Lisbon district, a civil defense source told Lusa, a Portuguese news agency. Authorities confirmed the building was fully evacuated, and a total of 23 residents were safely removed from their homes.
Firefighters from Cacém, Queluz, and Algueirão, along with emergency medical personnel and PSP officers, responded to the scene with 14 vehicles and a team of 32. The fire was contained to the eighth floor of the structure.
