OLED displays are rapidly gaining prominence in the high-end monitor market, prompting manufacturers to release variations of their top models. The MSI MPG 321URXW is the latest example, offering a white finish to the popular MPG 321URX. This 32-inch monitor features a next-generation QD-OLED panel with a 4K UHD resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate, and a quick 0.03ms response time – a combination designed for immersive gaming and a visually stunning experience.
While a curved version of this monitor, the MSI MPG 321CURX, has been previously reviewed, this marks the first opportunity to evaluate the flat-screen model. The white color scheme aims for a more sophisticated aesthetic, appealing to users seeking a less overtly “gaming” design. With newer models anticipated, the 2025 versions may spot price reductions, making them attractive options for potential buyers.
Before diving in, we would like to thank MSI Spain for providing the monitor for review and for their continued trust.
Design: A Sleek Combination of White and Silver
As with most monitors, the MSI MPG 321URXW features a straightforward assembly process. The base attaches with a hand-tightened butterfly screw, and the arm connects to the monitor’s rear with a secure click-in mechanism – requiring no tools. The most distinctive feature of this model is its white finish, accented by silver touches on the back panel. This design choice reflects a growing trend toward more minimalist aesthetics in gaming peripherals.
The white color extends to both the base and the arm, as well as the thicker portion of the monitor housing the electronics. The rear of the panel itself is a light gray, which complements the white well. A preference for compact, square bases means the 321URXW’s base is particularly appealing, minimizing desk space usage and even allowing for placement of items underneath.

The arm features a simple design with a single opening for cable management. It offers height adjustment (up to 110mm), tilt (-5° ~ 15°), swivel (-30° ~ 30°), and pivot (-10° ~ 10°) functionality. The rear of the monitor showcases MSI’s signature dragon logo in a silver finish that blends well with the white. A small, discreet RGB lighting system is likewise integrated into the upper portion of the thicker section.
Looking at the upper area, prominent ventilation grilles are visible. MSI has opted for a graphene film with a custom heatsink for heat dissipation, eliminating the need for noisy fans. The manufacturer offers a 3-year warranty against burn-in, indicating confidence in the cooling system’s effectiveness.

The joystick for navigating the on-screen display (OSD) is centrally located on the monitor, and the connectors are positioned on the lower side. The MSI MPG 321URXW includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4a, a USB-B, a USB-C, two USB 2.0 ports, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The USB-C port supports 90W Power Delivery and can also function as a KVM switch. Notably, the monitor does not have built-in speakers.
The front bezel is typical for this type of monitor, with black frames that, while slightly thicker than some, are standard. The bottom bezel is thicker and also white, featuring the MSI logo in the center. It’s a practical and elegant design.
3rd Generation QD-OLED Panel and 240Hz Refresh Rate
Turning to the technical specifications, the MSI MPG 321URXW is equipped with a third-generation QD-OLED panel measuring 32 inches in a 16:9 aspect ratio, with a 4K UHD (3840 x 2160 pixels) resolution. This model is positioned in the high-end segment, boasting a 240Hz refresh rate and a rapid 0.03ms (GtG) response time. This combination is designed to deliver a smooth and responsive gaming experience.
Additional features include VESA certifications for ClearMR 13000 and DisplayHDR True Black 400. It is compatible with Nvidia G-SYNC and comes well-calibrated out of the box, with a Delta<2. The employ of quantum dot technology provides a 97% coverage of the Adobe RGB color space, 99% of DCI-P3, and 138% of sRGB.
Regarding panel care, the 321URXW incorporates the MSI OLED Care suite. This solution provides a range of screen protection optimization mechanisms, including Pixel Shift, Panel Protect, and Static Screen Detection. It also features the aforementioned graphene film for improved heat dissipation and custom fanless heatsink designs to extend panel lifespan.

Before assessing image quality, let’s quickly review the OSD. Pressing the joystick opens a colorful menu displaying resolution, refresh rate, and other useful data at the top. The left side provides access to the nine adjustment sections offered by MSI, with G.I. Being the first, offering options like KVM and smart crosshair.
I won’t detail the entire menu, as it offers the usual options for a monitor of this level, but it’s worth noting the multiple image modes (divided between gaming and professional), Adaptive Sync options, a dedicated PIP/PBP section, lighting system control, and numerous OLED Care-related options. There’s also the option to install Gaming Intelligence, a replica of the OSD available as a Windows application with extra features.
Image Quality: OLED Remains King
Having tested numerous OLED monitors in recent years, it’s clear that most WOLED or QD-OLED models deliver truly excellent image quality. Each has its nuances, but all offer an impressive visual experience. The MSI MPG 321URXW continues this trend, especially given its 240Hz specification.

The MSI MPG 321URXW delivers a truly stunning image quality, with a virtually infinite contrast ratio, incredibly deep blacks, and no blooming or artifacts typically seen in LED technology. The monitor exhibits fantastic gray uniformity, excellent black uniformity, slightly oversaturated but accurate colors (thanks to the QD-OLED technology), incredible color volume, perfect viewing angles, and excellent text clarity.
Are there drawbacks? A few. The most notable is that black levels increase significantly in bright environments. This can sometimes cause a purple tint in well-lit rooms, a common characteristic of QD-OLED monitors like the 321URXW. While light reflection is minimal, direct reflections aren’t handled as well.

MSI states a brightness of 250 nits in SDR and 450 nits typical brightness in HDR and 10% window, peaking at 1000 nits at 3%. These values are accurate, and are lower than MiniLED technologies. Still, the brightness is more than acceptable, and combined with OLED’s infinite contrast, a higher brightness is rarely needed, especially in a dark room.
Conclusion and Price

The MSI MPG 321URXW is an excellent monitor, representing the high-end of OLED technology. Newer models with higher refresh rates and modern panel technologies are expected this year, but this model remains more than sufficient for most users. Its image quality is sure to impress from the first moment.
As I’ve mentioned before, choosing an OLED monitor now often comes down to personal aesthetic preferences and budget rather than technical specifications. The 321URXW offers an alternative in the market: a white finish, a more elegant design than the typical gaming aesthetic, and a compact central base for those who prefer to minimize desk space. It also features a flat screen in a 16:9 format, ideal for console use.
The MSI MPG 321URXW launched with a suggested retail price of €1,199, but is currently available at a reduced price. OLED monitors are becoming increasingly accessible, and now you just need to decide which design and format best suits your needs.
