Romanian medical experts will convene in Sinaia this spring for the third edition of the national conference on lifelong lung health, focusing on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment across all age groups.
The event, titled “Protection of the Lung Throughout Life,” will take place from May 14 to 16, 2026, at Hotel Mara in Sinaia. It is jointly organized by the Romanian Society of Pneumology (SRP) and the Bucharest-Ilfov Association of Family Physicians (AMFB).
Co-chaired by Professor Dr. Roxana Maria Nemeș, former president of SRP, and Dr. Sandra Adalgiza Alexiu, president of AMFB, the conference targets healthcare professionals from all specialties interested in respiratory health, including family medicine, pulmonology, internal medicine, pediatrics, pediatric pulmonology, allergy, cardiology, occupational medicine, physical and rehabilitation medicine, and thoracic surgery.
The scientific program will feature workshops on spirometry, oscillometry, fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FENO), and inhaler devices, alongside practical sessions on bronchoscopy to support clinical decision-making. Additional topics include updates in pediatric and adult vaccination, challenges in pulmonary imaging such as radiography, CT scans, and lung ultrasound, and approaches to managing respiratory emergencies in both children and adults in emergency settings.
Sleep medicine—with practical applications for pediatric and adult patients—will also be addressed, along with respiratory infections covering diagnosis and therapy, cystic fibrosis as an ongoing challenge, and lung cancer. The agenda further includes professional surprises and charismatic speakers, aiming to foster a community committed to lifelong lung health.
An accompanying medical exhibition will showcase specialty books, medical press, and related resources throughout the event. Organizers emphasize that the conference continues to promote innovation and collaboration in respiratory care, building on the success of prior editions held in 2024 and 2025.
