Porsche Taycan: Not a Facelift, But a Quarter of the Price – What You Need to Know

This is not a facelift of the Porsche Taycan. And it costs a quarter of the price.

In early March, Chinese automaker SAIC and HIMA, a subsidiary of Huawei, unveiled the Z7 model, leading many to wonder if Porsche had lent its Taycan design. That is not the case. Instead, it is a blatant copy by SAIC.

The electric vehicle has now launched in China, revealing its pricing. The base model, called Max, is priced at 219,800 yuan, which translates to approximately 296,422 Swedish kronor. It features a single rear-mounted motor producing 360 horsepower, powered by an 81 kWh battery pack, and offers a CLTC-rated range of up to 453 miles.

Next is the Z7 Max+ with a 100 kWh battery pack and a range of 559 miles, priced at 249,800 yuan. The top-tier Z7 Ultra comes with dual motors delivering a combined 590 horsepower, accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 3.4 seconds, offers a range of 491 miles, and costs 299,800 yuan.

A wagon variant, the Z7T, mirrors the Taycan Cross Turismo’s design and is available in the same trims. Pricing for the Z7T starts at 229,800 yuan and goes up to 309,800 yuan.

The vehicles are currently on display at the Auto China exhibition, which opened today.
