Dacia is preparing to launch a new compact vehicle, internally known as C-Neo, with details of the design, engine options, and production timeline recently revealed by French publication L’argus. The new model, potentially named Spacer, is slated to become a flagship offering alongside the Bigster, expanding Dacia’s presence in a competitive segment. This launch is significant for the Romanian automaker as it aims to build on its success as one of Europe’s best-selling brands.

As early as 2023, L’argus predicted the arrival of a Dacia crossover break for 2026. The C-Neo (K1320) is expected to compete with vehicles like the Skoda Octavia Combi. The company anticipates unveiling the final production version this summer and showcasing it to the public at the Paris Motor Show in October.

C-Neo: Sedan and Wagon Options

A sedan version (B1320) is also in development, though, mirroring the current Logan, it won’t be sold in France. Initial images, captured in late November 2025, show the C-Neo undergoing testing, revealing a design that blends traditional wagon aesthetics with SUV elements. Positioned at the top of Dacia’s lineup alongside the Bigster, the C-Neo will share numerous technical components with that model.

“Stepway” Styling, Expanded

Built on the Renault Group’s CMF-B platform – used in most current Dacia models excluding the Spring – the C-Neo will measure approximately 4.60 meters in length. This size is comparable to competitors such as the Peugeot 308 SW (4.63 m), Skoda Octavia Combi (4.69 m), Toyota Corolla Touring Sports (4.65 m), and VW Golf SW (4.63 m).

According to L’argus, Dacia’s new styling will incorporate sharper angles and edges. The front of the vehicle will feature a sculpted hood leading to a raised, black grille adorned with small squares, similar to the updated Sandero and Jogger models. The headlights, slimmer than current designs, will integrate a new Dacia light signature consisting of two horizontal bars complemented by vertical LED strips on either side of the bumper. The lower section of the bumper will also include a large air intake and a contrasting-color blade.

The vehicle’s silhouette will project a robust image with increased ground clearance, black plastic wheel arches, and side sills. However, the design will also emphasize dynamism with a steeply raked windshield and rear window. The roofline, designed to maximize interior space, will feature a wrap-around spoiler, while the C-pillar will adopt a triangular shape, similar to the Bigster and Duster.

The rear of the vehicle will be characterized by prominent overhangs, providing generous cargo volume, a smooth tailgate, and a unique light signature. Both horizontal and vertical elements will be incorporated, mirroring the front design with slim taillights interspersed with an illuminated brand name within a dark band – a first for Dacia. The lower bumper will feature a clean design with three rectangular cutouts.

C-Neo: Hybrid and 4×4 Options, Not an SUV

The C-Neo will share powertrains with the Dacia Bigster. It will be available in four versions, three utilizing the Renault Group’s 1.2-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine. This engine will be offered in a dual-fuel gasoline/LPG variant producing 120 hp, paired with either a dual-clutch automatic transmission (DW23) or a six-speed manual transmission. This system debuted on the Duster and is now being rolled out to facelifted versions of the Logan, Sandero, and Jogger, replacing the Eco-G 100.

A mild-hybrid 48V version producing 140 hp, coupled with the aforementioned manual transmission, will also be available, as will a hybrid 4×4 LPG version generating 150 hp – the same Hybrid-G 150 4X4 system found in the Bigster and Duster, featuring an electrified rear axle.

The range will also include the new 1.8 Hybrid with 155 hp, which debuted on the Bigster, marking a first for the Renault Group and is now also available on the Duster and Jogger, and slated for the Sandero Stepway in 2026.

Paris Debut, Mioveni Production

The family break is expected to be unveiled in early summer 2026, with the official name potentially announced beforehand alongside initial teaser images. Production is scheduled to begin at Dacia’s plant in Mioveni, Romania, in the second half of 2026.

The Paris Motor Show, taking place between October 12 and 18, 2026, is anticipated to be the C-Neo’s first public appearance, with a market launch expected to follow in the autumn of 2026.
